Day Camp

Wakeboard and Wakesurf camp

Awakin your passion, purpose, and potential at this three day, Kirby’s School of Wake day camp! Awakin is designed to create an atmosphere for campers to grow their passion for wakeboarding/wakesurfing with top-notch instruction, gain a greater understanding of their purpose with faith-based messages and influences, and to seek their full potential.

Space is limited to twenty campers. First come, first serve. We accept campers aged 8-18. Campers will be divided into four ride groups (based on ability level – click HERE to determine skill level) and each camper will receive five wakeboarding/wakesurfing lessons, lunch, and the opportunity to compete. Over the lunch break, campers will be allowed to swim, do a short team-building exercise and hear a faith-based message. Be ready to cheer on others learning in your ride group, because on the last afternoon of camp, ride groups will compete as a team in a personal best contest. Each camper will compete to achieve their personal best tricks. We will combine the scores of each ride group and the ride group scoring the highest will receive a prize.

We encourage campers to bring their own wakeboards/lifejackets; however, if you don’t have them, no problem! Simply let us know on the registration form and we will get you all taken care of. Also, as this is not an overnight camp, please let us know if you need help finding accommodations.

Have you ever wished you could show off all the skills you’ve learned over the summer? Try your hand at maybe your first competition? Maybe your a seasoned competitor looking for more opportunities to get involved? Here is your chance!

The sixth annual Kirby’s School of Wake Personal Best Video Submission Contest is open to all ages and ability levels. Since it is a video submission format, location is no longer a barrier to being a part of this special event. This format allows you to film your run on your boat, your lake and with all that’s familiar to you to accomplish your best possible run in either the wakeboard or wakesurf division, or both!

“What is a run?”  A run is a list of specific tricks each rider plans to perform. The tricks are linked together smoothly, in order and consecutively. Need help making your run? Book a private session and have Coach Kirby help!

Submit a video of you completing your best four consecutive trick run without any cuts or stops in the video by midnight on Wednesday, September 30. Each division entry is $25. This helps us find super sweet prizes and goodies to put into the prize boxes for the first place winner of each division!

Wakeboarding Doesn’t Have to Hurt

By Blog
In our world, we’re often told that by the time we’re forty or (fill in the blank) we are supposed to hang up many of the activities we participated in and enjoyed from our youth. We’re trained to believe that by that particular time of life, our bodies will hurt and ache and as a result, we will be sidelined from the things we once loved.

The Work of a Pastor

Have you ever considered how hard the job of a pastor is? Pastors are constantly helping people with their struggles, organizing community outreaches and weekly services, managing life groups and church staff…BUT on top of all of that, the pastor has a weekly public speaking engagement to prepare for. I’ve come to notice that most pastors rarely rely on their notes AND many pastors present the same message to multiple services. Can you image trying to construct impactful, Spirit-led messages EVERY week and know them well enough to give them virtually without notes? This has never crossed our minds until Kirby was so graciously invited by Pastor Dennis to give the message at Freedom Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. Read More
