Personal Best Contest
THE PERSONAL BEST CONTEST
Have you ever wished you could show off all that you’ve learned this summer? Know what it’s like to compete in wakeboarding? Meet other School of Wake students? Here is your opportunity!
Kirby’s School of Wake is hosting its sixth annual wakeboarding contest on Saturday, September 21st. The contest is open to all ages and ability levels and features Kirby’s signature contest format. Riders are judged on how close they get to accomplishing their predetermined, personal best on their wakeboard. Accomplish your personal best run of four consecutive tricks to be crowned the winner of your division.
At Kirby’s School of Wake we are all about progress over perfection. This is our way to encourage our students to showcase what progress they’ve made over the summer rather than just comparing their skills to others.
“What is a run?” A run is a list of specific tricks each rider plans to perform in order and consecutively.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
All ages and ability levels from anywhere! That’s right, if you aren’t able to make it in town for this event, submit a video of you completing your four trick run by midnight on Saturday, September 21 to be in the running for a prize box. Don’t be shy – we celebrate victories here and want to see everyone out having fun to close out an awesome summer! Please email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org to be considered!
NEW CONTEST STRUCTURE
This year, the Personal Best Contest will be clinic style. We will do a morning session (8:00am to noon) and an afternoon session (1:00pm to 6:00pm) and will accept a maximum of eight participants each. You’re welcome to wakeboard or wakesurf, or both. We will be videoing each contestant’s run and later releasing a video showing everyone’s run and announcing the first place winners of each division! Each first place winner will then receive a prize box in the mail.
WHAT TO BRING
